Harmony (modul ISS)

Harmony, juga dikenal sebagai Node 2, adalah "hub utilitas" dari Stasiun Luar Angkasa Internasional. Hub berisi empat rak yang menyediakan tenaga listrik, ditambah data elektronik, dan bertindak sebagai titik pusat untuk menghubungkan beberapa komponen lain melalui enam Mekanisme berlabuh Umum atau Common Berthing Mechanisms (CBMs).

Harmony menambahkan 2.666 kaki kubik (75,5 m3) volume hidup stasiun, meningkat hampir 20 persen, dari 15.000 kaki kubik (420 m3) ke 17.666 kaki kubik (500,2 m3) Instalasi berhasil Harmony berarti bahwa dari perspektif NASA, yang stasiun adalah "US Inti Lengkap". Harmony telah berhasil diluncurkan ke ruang angkasa pesawat Space Shuttle penerbangan STS-120 pada tanggal 23 Oktober 2007.[1][2] Setelah sementara yang melekat pada sisi pelabuhan node Unity,[3] itu dipindahkan ke lokasi tetapnya di ujung depan dari laboratorium Destiny pada tanggal 14 November 2007.[4]

Hub ini sekarang digunakan sebagai tempat penghubung modul laboratorium sisi Amerika, Eropa, maupun Jepang, serta tempat bersandar kapsul (maupun pesawat luar angkasa lainnya) yang diluncurkan ke stasiun luar angkasa dengan metode bersandar otomatis (tidak menggunakan lengan robot), seperti SpaceX Dragon 2 maupun Boeing Starliner.[5][6]
