Google Contacts adalah layanan manajemen kontak yang dikembangkan oleh Google. Aplikasi ini tersedia sebagai aplikasi seluler Android, aplikasi web, atau di bilah sisi Gmail sebagai bagian dari Google Workspace.

Sejarah

Google Contacts awalnya merupakan pengelola kontak bawaan di Gmail, yang diperkenalkan pada awal 2007.[1] Layanan ini kemudian dirilis sebagai aplikasi Android untuk perangkat Nexus pada 2010,[2] sebelum tersedia untuk semua ponsel Android pada 2015.[3] Aplikasi web tersendiri dirilis di tahun yang sama, menampilkan antarmuka pengguna yang mengalami perubahan.[4] Pada 2020, layanan ini kembali ke Gmail dalam bentuk bilah sisi sebagai bagian dari Google Workspace.[5]

Interpolasi

Layanan ini dapat disinkronkan dengan aplikasi Apple Contacts di iOS dan aplikasi Samsung Contacts di Galaxy.[6][7] Google Contacts juga dapat disinkronkan dengan Google Sync, sebelum layanan tersebut dihentikan.[8]

Penerimaan

Pada 2011, dengan diperkenalkannya layar berkepadatan lebih tinggi dan memori internal yang lebih besar pada perangkat Android, Google Contacts dikritik habis-habisan karena hanya mendukung foto beresolusi lebih rendah di Android Jelly Bean.[9] Batasan ini dicabut pada tahun berikutnya.[10]
