Gaya gerak listrik induksi

Gaya gerak listrik induksi (disingkat ggl induksi) adalah gaya gerak listrik yang timbul di dalam kumparan yang diakibatkan karena adanya perubahan medan magnet dengan tempo yang cepat. Gaya ini mencakup sejumlah fluks magnetik. Gaya gerak listrik induksi hanya terjadi jika fluks magnetik muncul dalam jumlah yang berbeda-beda. Perubahan jumlah fluks magnetik ini harus terjadi seiring waktu. Penemuan gaya gerak listrik induksi bermula setelah Hans Christian Ørsted membuktikan bahwa medan magnet dapat dibuat menggunakan arus listrik. Penemuan tersebut kemudian dilanjutkan oleh penemuan Michael Faraday dan Joseph Henry yang membuktikan bahwa arus listrik dapat dibangkitkan dari medan magnet. Percobaan tentang gaya gerak listrik induksi dimulai ketika diketahui bahwa arus listrik hanya timbul dalam kumparan apabila magnet digerakkan, atau medan magnet selalu berubah terhadap waktu.[1] Fenomena gaya gerak listrik induksi dijelaskan oleh hukum induksi Faraday. Dalam hukum tersebut, gaya gerak listrik induksi dihasilkan oleh perubahan fluks magnetik dengan nilai yang berbanding lurus dengan laju perubahan fluks. Percobaan yang membuktikan keberadaan gaya gerak listrik induksi adalah pendorongan dan penarikan sebuah batang magnet terhadap suatu kumparan.[2]
