Funke Opeke

Funke Opeke adalah seorang insinyur kelistrikan Nigeria. Ia juga adalah pendiri Main Street Technologies dan menjabar sebagai Chief Executive Officer untuk Main One Cable Company.[1][2]

Kehidupan pribadi

Opeke bersekolah di Sekolah Queens, sekolah khusus anak perempuan di Ibadan, negara bagian Oyo, Nigeria. Dia dibesarkan Ibadan, ibu kota negara bagian Oyo, meskipun, dia adalah penduduk asli Ile-Oluji, negara bagian Ondo. Ayahnya adalah direktur Nigeria pertama dari Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria sementara ibunya adalah seorang guru, ia memiliki 8 saudara.[3] Opeke memperoleh gelar Sarjana dari Obafemi Awolowo University dan gelar Magister Teknik Elektro dari Columbia University.[4]

Karier

Setelah lulus dari Universitas Columbia, ia mengikuti karier di bidang TIK di Amerika Serikat sebagai direktur eksekutif untuk divisi grosir Verizon Communications di New York City. Pada 2005, ia bergabung dengan MTN Nigeria sebagai chief technical officer (CTO). Dia juga sempat menjabat sebagai penasihat di Transcorp dan chief operating officer NITEL.[5][6][7][8] Perusahaannya menjadi perusahaan penyedia internet terbesar di Afrika.[3][9][10][11][12] Funke juga investor untuk Mainstsreet Technologies, pengembang kabel MainOne, penyedia solusi jaringan terkemuka di Afrika Barat.[13][14][15]
