Frank Boeijen Groep adalah sebuah band asal Belanda yang beranggotakan frontman Frank Boeijen. Grup musik ini muncul di Nijmegen, didirikan pada tahun 1979 dan terkenal secara internasional lewat lagu mereka, "Kronenburg Park" (1985). Frank Boeijen Groep bubar pada tahun 1991, selepas itu Frank melanjutkan sebagai seorang seniman solo.

Karier

Karier Frank Boeijen Groep bermula dengan Frank Boeijen dan Wout Pennings, dimana Frank dan Wout menerbitkan sendiri album Frank Boeijen en Woutje Pennings pada tahun 1977. Setahun kemudian, album tersebut, termasuk empat lagu baru, diterbitkan kembali oleh CNR Records, di bawah Rob De Nijs. Agar bisa tampil, Frank dan Wout diperluas dengan Henk Wanders pada drum dan Nels Busch pada gitar bas.

Pada tahun 1979, Wout meninggalkan band. Band ini diperluas dengan Will Theunissen (1954-2020) pada gitar dan Jos Haagmans pada kibor dan band ini berganti nama menjadi Frank Boeijen Groep. Pertunjukan pertama dilakukan pada tanggal 3 November 1979. Singel pertama, "Transport Uit Bangkok" ("Transportasi dari Bangkok") gagal sukses, tetapi lagu "Verjaardagsfeest," sebuah sisi-B dari lagu ini, menarik perhatian Frits Spits (pramuirama) dan Tom Blomberg (produser) pada tahun 1981. Lagu-lagu signature dari Frank Boeijen Groep adalah "Linda" pada tahun 1983, "Zwart Wit" ("Hitam Putih") pada tahun 1984, dan "Kronenburg Park" (1985), menampilkan pelantun "History," Mai Tai, pada vokal latar.[1]

Pada tahun 1984, Will Theunissen keluar dari Frank Boeijen Groep dan digantikan oleh Maarten Peters, yang kemudian digantikan oleh Ger Hoeijmakers pada tahun 1986 . Pada tahun 1987, manajer Paul Schouwenaars mendapat ide untuk tidak lagi tampil di diskotik dan tenda, tetapi hanya melakukan tur teater. Penayangan perdana tur seputar album Welkom In Utopia dari tahun 1987 berlangsung di Amsterdam.
