Ford Explorer adalah SUV yang diproduksi oleh produsen Amerika Ford sejak 1990. Sampai dengan tahun 2010 menggunakan body-on-frame, sedangkan untuk model tahun 2011, Ford Explorer pindah ke unibodi yang lebih modern berukuran penuh. Mobil ini ditempatkan di antara Ford Expedition dan mid-size CUV Ford Edge. Meskipun secara lahiriah serupa, Explorer generasi kelima, Ford Edge dan Ford Escape tidak berbagi platform. Explorer generasi kelima berbagi platform dengan Ford Flex dan Lincoln MKT.
Untuk penggunaan polisi, Ford Police Interceptor Utility berasal dari Explorer generasi kelima dan keenam untuk menggantikan Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (dan Sedan Police Interceptor berbasis Taurus).
