Ferdinand Čatloš

Ferdinand Čatloš (7 Oktober 1895 – 31 Agustus 1972), lahir Csatlós Nándor, adalah seorang perwira militer dan politikus Slovakia.[1][2] Sepanjang karir singkatnya di pemerintahan Republik Slovakia ia menjabat sebagai Menteri Pertahanan. Ia juga menjadi komandan Tentara Lapangan Bernolák selama 15 hari Invasi Slovakia ke Polandia. Pada tanggal 2 Agustus 1944 ia meninggalkan jabatannya dan bergabung dengan pejuang partisan. Pada akhir Perang Dunia II, dia dipenjara selama lima tahun oleh Pengadilan Nasional Bratislava dan dibebaskan pada tahun 1948. Dia menghabiskan sisa hidupnya bekerja sebagai pegawai biasa di Martin, Cekoslowakia. Dia kemudian meninggal pada tahun 1972.

Pada tanggal 1 September 1939, Republik Slovakia menyerang Polandia dengan tiga divisi Infanteri di bawah komando umumnya. Mereka hanya menemui perlawanan yang lemah, dengan cepat menyerbu pasukan Polandia dan menduduki sebagian wilayah Polandia. Pasukan Slovakia mengalami kerugian yang relatif kecil, dengan 37 orang tewas, 114 orang luka-luka, 11 orang hilang dan 2 pesawat ditembak jatuh.
