Everlast adalah sebuah merek peralatan olahraga asal Amerika Serikat yang fokus pada tinju, seni bela diri campuran, dan kebugaran. Perusahaan ini memasarkan produknya ke seluruh dunia. Everlast didirikan di The Bronx dan saat ini berkantor pusat di Manhattan. Pada tahun 2007, Everlast diakuisisi oleh Frasers Group asal Inggris.

Everlast memproduksi berbagai macam produk untuk olahraga tarung, seperti sarung tinju, peralatan pelindung (pelindung kepala dan badan, pelindung mulut, cawat olahraga, pembungkus tangan), samsak tinju, target pukulan, ring tinju (dan bangku sudut, kanvas, tali, bantal sudut). Everlast juga memasarkan pakaian dan alas kaki, seperti kaus, kaus tanpa lengan, hoodie, legging, celana pendek, celana, garmen kompresi, dan sneakers.

Sejarah

Pada tahun 1910, Jacob Golomb, yang saat itu masih berusia 17 tahun, anak dari seorang penjahit dan perenang ulung, mendirikan perusahaan ini sebagai produsen pakaian renang yang dirancang dapat bertahan lebih lama daripada pakaian renang yang dijual pada saat itu. Ia menjamin pakaian renang buatannya dapat bertahan setahun lebih lama, dan menamai perusahaan ini "Everlast".[1][2] Everlast kemudian berekspansi memasok berbagai macam peralatan olahraga. Perusahaan ini pertama kali memproduksi peralatan tinju pada tahun 1917 setelah Jack Dempsey meminta perusahaan ini untuk memasok pelindung kepala yang dapat bertahan lebih dari 15 ronde.[1] Perusahaan ini lalu juga mensponsori Roberto Durán, Joe Frazier, Marvin Hagler, Larry Holmes, Sugar Ray Leonard, dan Muhammad Ali, sehingga berhasil menjadi merek tinju paling terkenal.[3]

Golomb meninggal pada dekade 1950-an dan digantikan oleh anaknya, Daniel,[1] yang memperbesar logo Everlast di sarung tinju buatannya, sehingga dapat lebih terlihat di televisi.[2] Ben Nadorf membeli 50% saham Everlast Sports Mfg. Corp pada tahun 1958 dan resmi memiliki seluruh saham perusahaan ini pada tahun 1995. Pada tahun 2000, perusahaan ini diakuisisi oleh Active Apparel Group milik George Horowitz,[1] yang kemudian memproduksi pakaian olahraga untuk pria dan wanita di bawah lisensi untuk Everlast,[4] dan pada tahun 2007, Sports Direct resmi mengakuisisi Everlast Worldwide.[3][5][6]

Perusahaan ini lalu berekspansi ke seni bela diri campuran[3] dan telah menerima World MMA Awards sebagai Merek Peralatan Teknis Terbaik sebanyak lima kali,[7] terakhir tahun 2016.[8]

Peralatan tinju Everlast diproduksi di Moberly, Missouri, sementara produk lain diproduksi di luar Amerika Serikat oleh pemegang lisensi.[4] Perusahaan ini juga memproduksi peralatan tinju di Port Morris, Bronx mulai dekade 1980-an hingga 2003.[1][2]
