Eric Schneider

Eric Schneider (lahir 30 Agustus 1934) adalah pemeran dan sutradara Belanda. Ia adalah adik Carel Jan Schneider, seorang diplomat dan penulis.

Schneider adalah anak seorang guru bahasa Jerman. Pada tahun 1947, ia kembali ke Belanda dan lulus sekolah menengah di sana. Pada tahun 1956, ia masuk akademi teater di Maastricht. Pada tahun 1960, ia lulus ujian akhir.

Schneider memulai debutnya dalam Sud karya Julien Green pada tahun 1960. Pada tahun 1967, ia menerima Louis d'or atas perannya di Hamlet dengan Nieuw Rotterdams Toneel. Pada tahun 2009, Schneider mengevaluasi perjalanan grup teater tersebut dengan Nocture, een bittere komedie. Raja Lear karya William Shakespeare dianggap sebagai pencapaian tertinggi karier setiap pemeran. Schneider menulis Raja Lear-nya sendiri dengan Nocturne. Ia melihat pada kehidupan mantan pemain teater dan juga setengah abad sejarah teater.

Pada bulan Mei 2010, Schneider akan turut serta dalam 'Márai Marathon' (penghargaan untuk karya Sándor Márai dari Hungaria) yang kembali diperlihatkan dengan pertunjukan Gloed yang meraih Toneelpublieksprijs.

Dalam film Cloaca (2003), ia memerankan bos pegawai Pieter. Pada tahun 2007, ia mendapat peran kecil dalam film Alles is Liefde. Pada tahun itu pula, Schneider kembali muncul sebagai tuan rumah yang gila dalam keluarga Henk Keppel sr. dalam acara TV Stellenbosch. Pada tahun 2010, ia memerankan Pangeran Bernhard pada masa tuanya dalam Bernhard, schavuit van Oranje.

Schneider juga aktif sebagai sutradara teater. Schneider menulis sejumlah drama, seperti Tweelicht, Rinkelrooien, De stilte aan de andere kant van de weg, Theodoor, een total loss dan Nocturne, een bittere komedie.

Schneider memiliki 2 anak dari pernikahannya dengan aktris Will van Kralingen. Putera bungsu mereka Beau Schneider juga seorang pemeran.
