Eduardo Saverin (lahir 19 Maret 1982)[4] adalah seorang pengusaha Brazil-Amerika dan pendiri pendamping Facebook bersama Mark Zuckerberg dan teman-temannya.[5] Ia memegang 5% saham Facebook[6] dengan nilai US$2,5 miliar pada 4 Januari 2011.[7]

Riwayat hidup

Eduardo Saverin dilahirkan di Sao Paulo, Brasil. Ayahnya, Roberto Saverin, adalah keturunan Yahudi kaya raya dan menjalankan berbagai bisnis seperti real estate. Pada tahun 1993, ia sekeluarga pindah ke Amerika Serikat ke wilayah Miami, Florida. Kemudian Eduardo kuliah di Harvard University dan mengambil jurusan ekonomi. Di Harvard, Ia pernah menjadi presiden organisasi Harvard Investment Association. Ia lulus dari Harvard dengan pujian pada tahun 2006. Saat di Harvard inilah, Saverin bertemu dengan Mark Zuckerberg. Pertemuan ini kemudian berlanjut dengan berdirinya Facebook. Pada 2012, ia melepaskan status warga negara Amerika Serikat (AS) dan pindah ke Singapura.[8]

Pada bulan juni 2015, ia menikah dengan Elaine Andriejanssen,[9] wanita berkebangsaan Indonesia, upacara dan pesta pernikahan berlangsung di daerah tempat wisata eksklusif French Riviera di Prancis.[10]
