E-federation

Sebuah e-federation, biasa disingkat e-fed, adalah salah satu dari berbagai macam permainan online yang bersifat roleplaying, biasanya bertajuk gulat, dengan demikian sebuah e-fed didirikan dan didukung pelaksanaannya oleh para penggemar gulat profesional. Para pelaku e-fed kemudian menciptakan sebuah karakter untuk dapat ikut serta dalam pergulatan online ini, tanpa harus mendapatkan kekerasan fisik.

Sejarah

Awal mula dari sebuah e-fed tidak dapat dipastikan, tetapi dapat diperkirakan lahir bersamaan dengan menjamurnya permainan online lainnya dan mungkin muncul sebagai variasi permainan dari suatu komunitas permainan online yang kemudian berkembang menjadi tema tersendiri. Sebuah e-fed bertahan selama para pendukung e-fed tersebut masih menikmati permainan yang ditawarkan sebuah e-fed dan dapat bertahan selama bertahun-tahun apabila pengelola mampu mempertahankan para anggotanya, dan bahkan para anggota yang tergila-gila, misalnya dengan cara mengedepankan alur cerita antara karakter yang satu dengan yang lain, lebih kurang sama seperti yang ditawarkan organisasi serupa di dunia nyata.

Kata e-federation mungkin diturunkan dari salah satu promosi gulat profesional yang terkenal pada tahun 1990-an yaitu World Wrestling Federation (kemudian dinamakan World Wrestling Entertainment pada tahun 2002 karena terdapat konflik dengan salah satu organisasi PBB, World Wildlife Fund). Dalam percakapan informal, kata fed merujuk kepada tempat/organisasi e-fed tersebut berjalan dan kegiatan yang dilakukan ini disebut fedding. Dan beberapa e-fed juga menggunakan tradisi penamaan organisasi mereka, yaitu dengan menyingkat menjadi 3 huruf saja, seperti World Wrestling Entertainment menjadi WWE.

E-fed di Indonesia

Sebagai negeri yang tidak ketinggalan memiliki penggemar wrestling, e-fed juga telah memasuki komunitas maya Indonesia, bermula dari sebuah forum bernama SmackStation yang merupakan bagian dari forum Megindo dengan e-fed-nya, SSCW, sekitar tahun 2000 namun e-fed ini sudah tidak dipublikasikan lagi karena suatu alasan. Kemudian muncul Virtual Wrestling Entertainment atau VWE yang dibawakan oleh forum Gameplanetz. Tidak lupa Gameindo Pro-Wrestling Club atau GPWC yang dibawakan oleh forum Gameindo, dan e-fed termuda di Indonesia, Jadul Championship Brawl atau JCB yang dibawakan oleh forum Jadul Community, yang selain bertemakan wrestling juga bertemakan mixed martial arts, pantun dan puisi, fantasy war dan juga Jadul style yang cenderung rusuh dan konyol. Sempat pula diadakan e-fed di forum SMAN 8 Jakarta[pranala nonaktif permanen] bernama SRF, tetapi tidak bertahan lama karena kurangnya mendapatkan simpati dari hadirin forum.
