Dreux (pengucapan bahasa Prancis: [dʁø]) adalah sebuah komune di departemen Eure-et-Loir sebelah tenggara Prancis.

Sejarah

Dreux dikenal pada zaman kuno sebagai Durocassium, ibu kota suku keltik di Durocass. Terlepas dari legenda, namanya tidak terkait dengan Druid. Bangsa Romawi mendirikan sebuah kamp berbenteng yang dikenal dengan nama Castrum Drocas.

Pada Abad Pertengahan, Dreux adalah pusat dari comte Dreux. Pangeran pertama Dreux si Robert, putra Raja Louis IV. pertempuran besar pertama dari Perang Agama Prancis terjadi di Dreux, pada tanggal 19 Desember 1562, menghasilkan kemenangan yang diperjuangkan dengan susah payah oleh pasukan Katolik di duc de Montmorency.

Pada bulan Oktober 1983, Front Nasional memenangkan 55% suara dalam pemilihan putaran kedua untuk dewan kota Dreux, dalam salah satu kemenangan pemilu signifikan pertamanya.[3]
