Dog Day Afternoon adalah sebuah film drama kriminal Amerika Serikat tahun 1975 disutradarai oleh Sidney Lumet, ditulis oleh Frank Pierson dan diproduseri oleh Martin Bregman dan Martin Elfand. Film ini dibintangi Al Pacino, John Cazale, Charles Durning, Chris Sarandon, Penelope Allen, James Broderick, Lance Henriksen dan Carol Kane.

Film ini terinspirasi dari artikel "The Boys in the Bank" karya P.F. Kluge,[2] yang menceritakan sebuah kisah tentang perampokan bank di Brooklyn oleh John Wojtowicz dan Salvatore Naturale pada tanggal 22 Agustus 1972. Artikel ini diterbitkan di majalah Life pada tahun 1972.[3]

Film ini menerima pujian kritis sejak dirilis September 1975 oleh Warner Bros. Dog Day Afternoon masuk dalam beberapa nominasi Academy Awards dan Golden Globe, dan memenangkan satu Academy Award. Pada tahun 2009, film ini masuk ke dalam National Film Registry oleh Library of Congress sebagai warisan "budaya, historis atau estetis" dan akan dipertahankan di Arsip Film Nasional.[4]
