Denys Anatoliiovych Monastyrsky (bahasa Ukraina: Денис Анатолійович Монастирський; 12 Juni 1980 – 18 Januari 2023) adalah seorang pengacara dan politikus Ukraina yang menjabat sebagai Menteri Dalam Negeri Ukraina dari 16 Juli 2021 - 18 Januari 2023. [1]

Biografi

Denys Anatoliiovych Monastyrsky lahir di Khmelnytskyi, yang saat itu merupakan bagian dari Republik Sosialis Soviet Ukraina di Uni Soviet, pada 12 Juni 1980. Ia adalah lulusan Fakultas Hukum Universitas Manajemen dan Hukum Khmelnytskyi. Monastyrsky juga mantan mahasiswa di Institut Negara Koretsky dan Hukum Akademi Ilmu Pengetahuan Nasional Ukraina. Dia memiliki gelar PhD di bidang hukum.[2]

Pada tahun 2007, Monastyrsky memulai karirnya sebagai pengacara. Dia juga mengepalai departemen pembuatan undang-undang dan keahlian ilmiah dari bagian penelitian Universitas Manajemen dan Hukum Khmelnytskyi, di mana dia bekerja sebagai profesor asosiasi. Monastyrsky adalah salah satu pendiri dan anggota dewan Asosiasi Kebudayaan Pemuda Podolia "Menuju Masa Depan melalui Budaya".[3]

Antara 2014 dan 2019, Monastyrsky adalah asisten konsultan untuk Anton Herashchenko.[4]

Menjelang pemilihan umum presiden Ukraina 2019, Monastyrsky dihadirkan sebagai ahli "Tim" kandidat presiden Volodymyr Zelensky tentang reformasi penegakan hukum. Zelensky memenangkan pemilihan dan dilantik sebagai Presiden Ukraina pada 20 Mei 2019.[5]

Monastyrsky adalah kandidat partai Sluha narodu dalam pemilihan parlemen Ukraina 2019. Ia ditempatkan No.19 dalam daftar pemilihan nasional dan terpilih menjadi anggota parlemen Ukraina. Di parlemen ia menjadi ketua Komite Parlemen untuk Urusan Penegakan Hukum. Menurut analisis gerakan Sipil "Chesno" dia adalah salah satu wakil rakyat yang paling banyak mengajukan inisiatif legislatif.[2][4]

Setelah pada 12 Juli 2021, Menteri Dalam Negeri Arsen Avakov mengajukan pengunduran diri (surat) sebagai Menteri Dalam Negeri, Monastyrsky pada 16 Juli 2021 diangkat menjadi Menteri Dalam Negeri oleh 271 anggota parlemen. Anton Herashchenko menjadi salah satu penasihat resminya di Kementerian.[1][3]
