Lagu ini ditulis oleh Sivan, Leland, Noonie Bao dan produsernya Oscar Holter, lagu ini dirilis oleh EMI Music Australia pada 13 Juni 2018 sebagai single keempat dari album studio kedua Sivan, Bloom (2018).
Preview musik video pertama kali ditampilkan dengan serangkaian gambar melalui Instagram oleh Sivan dan Grande pada tanggal 28 Juni 2018. Teaser untuk video ini dirilis pada 16 Juli 2018 mengumumkan bahwa video lagu ini akan tayang perdana pada 19 Juli 2018 pukul 9 pagi PST.[1] Majalah W menggambarkan video lagu ini sebagai Sivan dan Grande "menari-nari di malam hari" di ruang rekreasi di depan "audiens yang tidak tertarik untuk memperhatikan" dengan pakaian olahraga 90-an berwarna nilon neon", dengan kedua penyanyi terus menampilkan lagu sampai semua orang pergi.[2] Video ini merupakan penghormatan untuk musik video tahun 2003, lagu "Pass This On" oleh duo Swedia The Knife; Sivan menyatakan video lagu ini juga terinspirasi oleh High School Musical, Grease dan "gif dari Cher yang berputar".[2]
