James Dalton Trumbo (9 Desember 1905 – 10 September 1976) adalah seorang penulis latar dan novelis Amerika, yang membuat naskah untuk film-film seperti Roman Holiday, Exodus, Spartacus, dan Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo. Sebagai salah satu Hollywood Ten, ia menolak untuk ditestifikasi oleh House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) pada 1947 saat penyelidikan komite tersebut terhadap pengaruh Komunis dalam industri perfilman.
