Desain pakaian buatan adibusana Chanel

Couturier (bahasa Prancis: [ku.ty.ʁje]) adalah sebuah perusahaan atau orang yang terlibat dalam industri mode pakaian yang membuat pakaian pesanan klien pribadi. Seorang couturier dapat membuat sesuatu yang disebut haute couture atau adibusana.[1][2] Orang-orang seperti itu biasanya mempekerjakan perancang pola dan teknisi mesin untuk produksi kain,[3] dan dipekerjakan oleh butik-butik eksklusif atau bekerja sendiri.

Pada umumnya, couturier adalah seseorang yang memiliki keahlian tinggi dalam merancang dan membuat pakaian, seringkali dengan sentuhan personal dan perhatian terhadap detail. Mereka dapat bekerja dengan bahan-bahan berkualitas tinggi dan seringkali menghasilkan pakaian yang eksklusif dan mahal.

Istilah "couturier" juga dapat digunakan secara umum untuk merujuk kepada perancang busana atau penjahit yang bekerja di industri mode secara keseluruhan. Namun, dalam penggunaan yang lebih spesifik, couturier mengacu pada perancang busana yang berfokus pada pakaian khusus dan berkualitas tinggi.
