Sir Charles Wentworth Dilke adalah seorang negarawan berkebangsaan Inggris.[1] Dia lahir pada tanggal 4 September 1843 di London dan meninggal di 26 Januari tahun 1911.[1] Karya miliknya yang paling terkenal berjudul Greater Britain yang berjumlah 2 jilid dan terbit tahun 1868.[1] Pada tahun yang sama pula, Dilke terpilih untuk ke parlemen dan dia lebih memilih untuk mengambil posisi di sayap kiri.[2] Saat 1874, dengan posisi yang berada di pihak liberal, Dilke justru menjadi lebih dekat dengan para pimpinan negara.[2] Dalam pemerintahan kedua Gladstone yang berasaskan liberal, dia akhirnya dipromosikan ke kabinet untuk menjadi ketua Dewan Pemerintah Daerah ketika tahun 1882.[2]

Kemudian waktu 1890, bukunya mengalami cetak ulang, yang akhirnya berganti judul dengan nama Problems of Greater Britain.[1] Karyanya ini berisi tentang laporan perjalanan keliling dunia yang dilakukan oleh Dilke mulai dari 1866 sampai 1867.[1] Hal ini dianggap sebagai sumbangan bagi pembaharuan imprealisme Inggris setelah tahun 1870.[1]
