Cekakak pita biasa (Tanysiptera galatea) adalah salah satu jenis burung cekakak dalam keluarga Alcedinidae yang menghuni hampir seluruh hutan dataran rendah Pulau Papua, kecuali Teluk Huon dan Teluk Etna hingga Sungai Digul.[1]

Deskripsi

Cekakak pita biasa berukuran 33-34 cm dengan paruh kecil berwarna oranye. Bagian atas tubuhnya berwarna biru tua, dengan mahkota berwarna biru muda terang, sedangkan tubuh bagian bawah dan tunggir bewarna putih. Ekornya putih panjang dengan dua bulu ekor bagian tengah yang memanjang dan berbentuk seperti sendok. Sekilas burung ini mirip dengan cekakak pita kecil, namun dengan ukuran yang lebih besar.[2] Nyanyian burung ini seperti peluit lembut dan bergetar.[1]
