Candi Solok Sipin

Candi Solok Sipin merupakan sebuah candi yang terletak di daerah Kelurahan Legok, Danau Sipin, Kota Jambi. Candi ini berasal dari periode klasik Hindu–Budha, didalam situs saat ini hanya tinggal puing-puing berupa pondasi batu bata bangunan candi.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]

Pada Candi Solok Sipin ini juga terdapat Arca Budha yang terbuat dari batu pasir setinggi 1,72 meter yang di gambarkan dalam posisi berdiri memakai jubah. Kemudian di situs ini juga di temukan 2 buah makara, lapik dan stupa, baik arca maupun makara saat ini tersimpan di Museum Nasional Indonesia, sedangkan lapik dan stupa tersimpan di Museum Siginjai Jambi.

Riwayat penemuan dimulai dari catatan orang Belanda yang pernah datang ke Jambi, sedangkan riwayat pembangunan Candi Solok Sipin tidak bisa diketahui dengan pasti, belum ada penelitian yang mendalam tentang keberadaan situs Candi Solok Sipin ini. Pada Arca Budha terdapat tulisan Dang Acharrya Syuta, berdasarkan tulisan itu dapat diperkirakan arca berasal dari abad ke-8 M dan salah satu makara yang ditemukan memiliki angka Tahun 1064 M.

Lokasi situs maupun percandian ini sudah semakin terhimpit oleh pemukiman penduduk dan hanya beberapa bagian saja yang dapat diselamatkan. Lokasi yang berada di pemukiman padat penduduk ini sangat menyulitkan dalam mengidentifikasi struktur batu bata yang terdapat di Legok. Bahkan diatas gundukan tanah yang didalamnya terdapat reruntuhan candi itupun telah berdiri beberapa rumah penduduk.^[5]
