Buliang adalah nama kelurahan yang berada di kecamatan Batu Aji, Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau, Indonesia. Luas wilayah kelurahan ini adalah 2,79 km², dengan jumlah penduduk tahun 2020 sebanyak 43.463 jiwa, dan kepadatan 15.578 jiwa/km².[1]
Kota Batam dikenal sebagai salah satu kota yang multikultural di Indonesia, kemajemukan masyarakat terlihat dalam identitas warga, termasuk etnis dan agama kepercayaan. Masyarakat kota Batam dan termasuk di kecamatan Batu Aji, didominasi oleh suku Melayu, Batak, Jawa, dan Minangkabau.[2] Ada juga kelompok etnis lain seperti Tionghoa, Bugis, Nias, Timor, Sunda, Minahasa, Bali, dan lainnya.
Bahasa yang digunakan di daerah ini umumnya adalah bahasa Indonesia, juga bahasa Melayu Batam dan bahasa lainnya seperti Batak yang kebanyakan adalah Batak Toba, bahasa Minangkabau, dan bahasa Jawa. Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik kota Batam 2019, pemeluk agama di kecamatan ini cukup beragama, dimana Islam 64,41%, kemudian Kristen 33,16% (Protestan 30,46% dan Katolik 2,70%), Budha 2,32%, Hindu 0,09%, dan lainnya 0,02%.[1]
Pekerjaan warga didominasi oleh karyawan swasta dan buruh, atau pekerja industri yang ada disekitar kota Batam. Ada juga yang merupakan pedagang, nelayan, tenaga medis, Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS), dan pekerja kantoran lainnya termasuk perbankan, dan sebagainya.[1]
