Buenos Aires Football Club (biasanya disingkat "BAFC") adalah klub uni rugbi yang didirikan di Buenos Aires. Dibentuk pada 1886 sebagai pendahulu Buenos Aires Cricket & Rugby Club saat ini. Buenos Aires FC adalah anggota pendiri Argentine Rugby Union dan menjadi salah satu tim rugbi tersukses di Argentina, memenangkan 8 Kejuaraan River Plate Rugby Union (sekarang "Torneo de la URBA") dari tahun 1900 sampai 1915.

Klarifikasi

Karena setidaknya ada dua klub lagi bernama "Buenos Aires Football Clun", asal-usul lembaga tersebut harus dijelaskan untuk menghindari kebingungan:

  • Buenos Aires Football Club pertama, didirikan pada tahun 1867 dan diakui sebagai klub sepak bola pertama tidak hanya di Argentina tetapi juga di Amerika Selatan. Setelah mengadopsi association football rules pada awalnya, klub kemudian beralih ke rugby union rules pada tahun 1874,[1][4] hingga dibubarkan pada tahun 1880-an.[5]
  • Di 1891, "Buenos Aires Football Club" ketiga mengambil bagian dari kejuaraan sepak bola asosiasi pertama yang diadakan di Argentina, menjadi satu-satunya partisipasinya dalam kompetisi resmi. Diyakini bahwa tim dibentuk secara eksklusif untuk memainkan turnamen, tanpa catatan lebih lanjut tentang kegiatannya di tahun-tahun berikutnya.
