Bruguiera adalah nama genus tetumbuhan yang termasuk ke dalam famili Rhizophoraceae. Ini adalah marga afrika yang beranggotakan enam spesies pepohonan mangrove di wilayah Samudra Hindia dan Samudra Pasifik bagian barat; mulai dari pantai Afrika Timur dan Madagaskar, menyusuri pesisir India, Sri Lanka dan wilayah Asia Tenggara hingga ke Australia utara, Melanesia dan Polinesia. Beberapa jenisnya dikenal dengan nama-nama lokal seperti berus, kendeka, putut, tumu atau tongke.

Marga ini dicirikan oleh kelopak bunga yang memiliki 8-16 taju runcing memanjang, 16-32 benang sari, pelepasan serbuk sari secara eksplosif, dan buah yang berkecambah ketika masih di pohon (propagul). Nama marga ini diberikan untuk menghormati Jean Guillaume Bruguière (1750–1798), seorang penjelajah dan biologiwan bangsa Prancis.[1]

Bentuk hibrida antara B. gymnorrhiza dan B. sexangula dikenal sebagai Bruguiera × rhynchopetala.[3]
