Acanthurus nigrofuscus, juga dikenal sebagai botana gandaria atau botana coklat, adalah botana dari Indo-Pasifik dan Hawaii . Ini biasanya masuk ke perdagangan akuarium . Tumbuh menjadi 21 panjangnya cm.^[2] Baru-baru ini, bakteri besar yang ditemukan di ususnya, Epulopiscium fishelsoni,^[3]^[4] telah ditemukan tumbuh sebesar 600 x 80 μm, sedikit lebih kecil dari tanda hubung yang dicetak, yang mengontrol pH usus inangnya, sehingga mempengaruhi kemampuan inangnya untuk mencerna makanan dan menyerap nutrisi.

Diet

Botana gandaria adalah herbivora yang merumput terutama pada ganggang bentik. Di penangkaran, mereka juga akan memakan bahan hewani seperti udang air asin dan udang mysis.
