Desa Bonto Majannang adalah sebuah desa yang terletak di provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, wilayah dataran ketinggian Kabupaten Bantaeng, di bagian Timur wilayah Kecamatan Sinoa, dengan luas 10.31 Km2 atau 1.030 Ha.
Desa Bonto Majannang pada awalnya sekitar tahun 1970-an adalah bagian dari wilayah Desa Bonto Maccini dengan dengan nama kepemimpinan ya disebut "Gallarrang sinoa", pada kurung waktu sampai dengan tahun 1986, dan pada awal tahun 1987 terjadi pemekaran Desa Bonto Maccini menjadi dua bahagian yaitu Desa Bonto Karaeng menjadi desa baru hasil pemekaran Bonto Maccini dikala itu, yang dipimpin oleh Galla' Nuru' (Nurdin Djari), dan wilayah Bonto Majannang termasuk didalam wilayah Desa Bonto Karaeng yang masih berstatus sebagai wilayah Dusun Janna-Jannaya.
Seiring dengan berjalannya waktu dari tahun ketahun serta berkembangnya kependudukan di wilayah Dusun Janna-Jannaya sehingga pada tahun 1997, wilayah tersebut memenuhi syarat pemekaran dengan kepadatan penduduk serta luas wilayah maka terjadilah pemekaran Desa Bonto Karaeng yaitu wilayah Dusun Pappasangan sebahagian dan wilayah Dusun Janna-Jannaya secara keseluruhan, menjadi Desa Bonto Majannang.
Sejak berdirinya Desa Bonto Majannang telah terjadi beberapa kali pergantian pemerintahan atau kepemimpinan di Desa dengan Kepala Desa Defenitif yaitu:
Nama Bonto Majannang diambil dari dua suku kata dalam bahasa Makassar yaitu "Bonto" dan "Majannang", yang memiliki arti dan makna, Bonto berarti wilayah dataran tinggi, pegunungan/perbukitan dan Majannang adalah Menetap, Kedamaian, ketenangan, jadi arti dari Bonto Majannang adalah wilayah yang terletak di dataran ketinggian/pegunungan yang menetapkan Kedamaian dan ketenangan pada masyarakatnya. sebagian para ahli mendefinisikan bahwa Bonto Majannang adalah sebuah wilayah dengan pemerintahan yang menjunjung tinggi perdamaian serta mengayomi dan melindungi dan berperan mensejahterahkan masyarakatnya.
-Letak Desa Bonto Majannang, yang memiliki jarak tempuh 6 km dari ibu kota Kecamatan Sinoa dan jarak tempuh ke ibu kota Kabupaten Bantaeng yaitu 15 km.
-Batas-batas Desa Desa Bonto Majannang di batasi dengan 6 Desa, 3 Kecamatan meliputi: 1. Sebelah Utara: Desa Bonto Daeng (Kec. Uluere)
2. Sebelah Barat: Desa Bonto Karaeng dan Desa
Bonto Maccini (Kec. Sinoa)
3. Sebelah Timur: Desa Bonto Tallasa (Kec. Uluere)
4. Sebelah Selatan: Desa Bonto Salluang (Kec.
Bissappu) dan Desa Bonto Matene (Kec. Sinoa).
-Administrasi Desa Bonto Majannang, yaitu: Pusat pemerintahan dan juga balai Desa Bonto Majannang terletak di Dusun Barua, dan secara administratif terbagi menjadi 6 Dusun sebagai berikut:
1. Dusun Janna-Jannaya terdiri dari 2 RW 4 RT;
2. Dusun Barua terdiri dari 2 RW 4 RT;
3. Dusun Bulorapa terdiri dari 2 RW 4 RT;
4. Dusun Salonro terdiri dari 2 RW 4 RT;
5. Dusun Batayya terdiri dari 2 RW 4 RT;
6. Dusun Kayureku terdiri dari 2 RW 4 RT;
