Kecamatan Bogor Barat (bahasa Sunda: ᮘᮧᮌᮧᮁ ᮊᮥᮜᮧᮔ᮪, translit. Bogor Kulon) adalah sebuah kecamatan di Kota Bogor, Provinsi Jawa Barat, Indonesia.

Sejarah

Awal terbentuk

Pada saat awal terbentuk, kecamatan ini hanya terdiri dari 1 kelurahan saja, yaitu: Menteng

Tahun 1995

Pada tahun 1995, beberapa wilayah di Kabupaten Bogor dipisahkan dari kabupaten induk dan masuk ke dalam wilayah Kota Bogor, sebagian diantaranya masuk ke dalam wilayah kecamatan ini. Adapun desa yang dipisahkan dari Kabupaten Bogor dan masuk ke dalam wilayah Kecamatan Bogor Barat adalah:

Dari Kecamatan Semplak (sekarang menjadi Kecamatan Kemang di wilayah Kab. Bogor):

  1. Desa Semplak
  2. Desa Curug
  3. Desa Curug Mekar
  4. Desa Cilendek Barat
  5. Desa Cilendek Timur

Dari Kecamatan Ciomas:

  1. Desa Pasir Jaya
  2. Desa Pasir Kuda
  3. Desa Pasir Mulya
  4. Desa Gunung Batu
  5. Desa Loji

Dari Kecamatan Dramaga:

  1. Desa Sindang Barang
  2. Desa Bubulak
  3. Desa Margajaya
  4. Desa Balumbang Jaya
  5. Desa Situ Gede

Selain itu, PP No. 5 tahun 1995 menetapkan ibukota Kecamatan Bogor Barat terdapat di Desa Semplak.[2] Kemudian, ibukota kecamatan pun di pindahkan ke Kelurahan Loji.

Tahun 2000 sampai sekarang

Seiring Kota Bogor semakin maju dan pesat, maka seluruh desa di kecamatan ini ditingkatkan statusnya menjadi kelurahan. Dan juga diberlakukan kode pos baru untuk desa-desa yang baru saja ditingkatkan statusnya.

Batas wilayah

Secara geografis letak Kecamatan Bogor Barat yang memiliki luas wilayah 23,08 km² sebagai berikut:

1. Sebelah Utara : Berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Kemang, Kabupaten Bogor;

2. Sebelah Timur: Berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Bogor Tengah dan Kecamatan Tanah Sareal, Kota Bogor;

3. Sebelah Selatan: Berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Bogor Selatan, Kota Bogor dan Kecamatan Ciomas, Kabupaten Bogor;

4. Sebelah Barat: Berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Dramaga, Kabupaten Bogor.

Secara hidrogeologi Kecamatan Bogor Barat dilintasi oleh Sungai Cisadane dan beberapa anak sungai antara lain Sungai Cidepit, Sungai Cisindangbarang, Sungai Ciapus yang semuanya mempunyai aliran anak-anak sungai dari DAS Cisadane.
