Boeing B-50 Superfortress

Pembom strategis Boeing B-50 Superfortress adalah revisi II pasca-Perang Dunia dari Boeing B-29 Superfortress, dilengkapi dengan mesin radial Pratt & Whitney R-4360 lebih kuat, struktur yang lebih kuat, sirip lebih tinggi, dan perbaikan lainnya. Itu bomber bermesin piston yang terakhir dirancang oleh Boeing untuk Angkatan Udara Amerika Serikat. B-50 dalam pelayanan USAF selama hampir 20 tahun.

Setelah layanan utamanya dengan SAC berakhir, B-50 airframes dimodifikasi menjadi kapal tanker udara untuk Tactical Air Command (KB-50) dan sebagai pesawat pengintai cuaca (WB-50) untuk Air Weather Service. Kedua tanker dan versi pemburu badai sudah pensiun Maret 1965 karena kelelahan logam dan korosi ditemukan di puing-puing KB-50J, 48-065, yang jatuh pada tanggal 14 Oktober 1964.[1]
