Blue Origin Goddard

Blue Origin Goddard adalah sebuah nama dari kendaraan pengembangan pertama di Program Blue Origin New Shepard, yang terbang untuk pertama kalinya pada tanggal 13 November 2006. Dinamakan berdasarkan pelopor peroketan Robert H. Goddard, kendaraan ini merupakan demonstran subskala dan terbang pada ketinggian 285 kaki selama penerbangan awal. Usaha pesawat ruang angkasa swasta didanai oleh pendiri miliarder dari Amazon.com, Jeff Bezos.[1]

Ia berharap bahwa pesawat ruang angkasa swasta akhirnya bisa membawa perjalanan ruang angkasa dalam jangkauan massa. Sebuah video dari kendaraan Goddard berbentuk kerucut menunjukkan kendaraan itu naik ke sekitar 85 m (285 ft) sebelum kembali ke Bumi, di daerah terpencil dari Texas.
