Begasingan

Permainan Begasingan merupakan permainan tradisional dari Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat.[1] Permainan begasingan ini hampir sama dengan daerah lainnya. Perbedaan nama dan bentuk adalah pembeda di tiap daerah. Gasing merupakan sebutan permainan ini di daerah Jakarta. Di beberapa daerah lain antara lain, begasing di Kalimantan Timur, apiong di Maluku, Piong di Sulawesi Utara, manggasing di Sulawesi Selatan, dan Panggal di Jawa Barat.

Bentuk dan bahan

Begasingan terbuat dari bahan kayu yang dibentuk sedemikian rupa sesuai tradisi daerah asal, diberi tali cukup panjang dililitkan dileher begasing. Tali dililitkan rapi hingga habis

Cara bermain

Permainan begasingan dapat dimainkan oleh dua orang. Pemain pertama di sebut pemukul lebih dikenal dengan istilah penakek pematok, sementara pemain kedua, pemain yang dipukul dikenal dengan istilah pelepas, ngejang atau masang. Permainan ini diawali dengan menggulung tali secara rapi pada lehaer begasingan. Pemain yang dipukul melepaskan begasingan dengan cara melempar ke tanah. Kemudian Pemain pemukul melepas begasingan hingga mengenai begasingan yang dipukul. Pemain yang dinyatakan sebagai pemenang adalah pemain yang begasingannya bertahan dan tetap berputar walaupun terkena pukulan.[2]
