Bank Industri Negara adalah bekas badan usaha milik negara Indonesia yang bergerak di bidang perbankan. Bank ini didirikan pada tahun 1951 untuk menyediakan pembiayaan pada sektor prioritas, seperti perkebunan, industri, dan pertambangan. Pada tahun 1960, pemerintah menggabungkan bank ini ke dalam Bank Pembangunan Indonesia.[1]

Sejarah

Pendirian bank ini digagas oleh Presiden Direktur Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) saat itu, Raden Mas Margono Djojohadikusumo, yang merasa bahwa Indonesia membutuhkan suatu lembaga khusus untuk membiayai industri. Pada tanggal 15 Mei 1950, ia pun memerintahkan Kepala Bagian Kredit BNI saat itu, Soenggono, untuk mempersiapkan pendirian sebuah bank khusus untuk membiayai industri. Setelah melalui berbagai penelitian dan persiapan, akhirnya bank ini didirikan dengan nama NV Bank Industri pada tanggal 4 April 1951.[2]

Presiden direktur pertama bank ini adalah Margono Djojohadikusumo. Sementara sekretaris direksinya adalah Sumanang, dan anggotanya adalah Soekasmo dan E.T. Kuyper. Pada tahun 1952, bank ini ditetapkan sebagai sebuah bank milik negara dengan nama Bank Industri Negara.[3] Pada tahun 1954, bank ini membuka cabang pertamanya di Surabaya. Setahun kemudian, bank ini membuka cabang di Semarang, Medan, dan Banjarmasin. Pada tahun 1958, bank ini kembali membuka cabang di Padang.[2]

Pada tahun 1960, bank ini digabung ke dalam Bank Pembangunan Indonesia.[1]
