Baker Street Irregulars

Baker Street Irregulars adalah panggilan untuk karakter fiksi anak-anak yang ditugaskan Sherlock Holmes sebagai agen agen pada penyelidikannya. Namanya kemudian diadopsi oleh organisasi sastra yang dirikan pada Amerika Serikat oleh Christopher Morley pada 1934.

Latar Belakang

Baker Street Irregular adalah karakter anak anak fiksional yang ditulis oleh Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Kelompok anak jalanan yang dipimpin oleh anak yang dipanggil dengan nama Wiggins oleh Holmes. Dengan upah satu shilling per hari,dan satu guinea sebagai upah jikalau berhasil menyelaesaikan misi.

Kelompok ini pertama kali tampil pada cerita A Study In Scarlet (1887).[1] Mereka juga tampil pada novel selanjutnya, The Sign of the Four (1890), dan pada cerita ini dinamakanlah sebagai"The Baker Street Irregulars".[2]

Kemudian Baker Street Irregulars ("my Baker Street boys") tampil pada "The Adventure of the Crooked Man" (1893).[3]

The Baker Street Irregulars adalah organisais penggemar Sherlock Holmes yang didirikan pada 1934 oleh Christopher Morley.[4] Sebuah organisasi nonprofit pecinta sastra Sherlock Holmes dunia.[5]
