Badan Pengawas Pasar Tenaga Listrik (disingkat Bappetal) adalah lembaga yang berfungsi mengatur dan mengawasi usaha penyediaan tenaga listrik di wilayah yang telah menerapkan kompetisi yang dibentuk berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2002 tentang Ketenagalistrikan. Bappetal kemudian dibentuk melalui Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 53 Tahun 2003.[1] Namun pada tanggal 1 Desember 2004 Mahkamah Konstitusi membatalkan Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2002 sehingga pembentukan Bappetal dibatalkan.[2]
