Ayub 14 (disingkat Ayb 14) adalah bagian dari Kitab Ayub di Alkitab Ibrani dan Perjanjian Lama dalam Alkitab Kristen. Kitab ini menceritakan riwayat Ayub, seorang yang saleh, dan pencobaan yang dialaminya.[1][2]

Teks

  • Naskah sumber utama: Masoretik, Septuaginta dan Naskah Laut Mati.
  • Pasal ini terdiri dari 22 ayat.
  • Berisi jawaban Ayub atas perkataan pertama Zofar, orang Naama, mengenai pencobaan yang dialami Ayub dalam pembicaraan antara Ayub dengan ketiga sahabatnya.
  • Merupakan satu rangkaian dengan pasal 12 dan 13.

Struktur

Ayat 14-15

"14Kalau manusia mati, dapatkah ia hidup lagi Maka aku akan menaruh harap selama hari-hari pergumulanku, sampai tiba giliranku; 15 maka Engkau akan memanggil, dan akupun akan menyahut; Engkau akan rindu kepada buatan tangan-Mu."[3]

Ayub percaya bahwa setelah mati dan memasuki dunia orang mati (Ayub 14:13), Allah akan memanggil dia keluar dari kubur (Ayub 14:15; 1 Korintus 15:20; 1 Tesalonika 4:16–17); dengan kata lain, Ayub mengungkapkan harapan akan kebangkitan pribadi (Ayub 19:25–26) Dasar penantian yang penuh harapan ini ialah kasih Allah yang sungguh-sungguh bagi umat-Nya, yaitu "Engkau akan rindu kepada buatan tangan-Mu" (Ayub 14:15). Untuk sesaat, Ayub menjangkau kepada Allah dengan ungkapan iman yang meluap-luap.[4]
