Aset tetap

Aset tetap dalam akuntansi adalah aset berwujud yang dimiliki untuk digunakan dalam produksi atau penyediaan barang atau jasa, untuk direntalkan kepada pihak lain, atau untuk tujuan administratif; dan diharapkan untuk digunakan selama lebih dari satu periode.[1] Jenis aset tidak lancar ini biasanya dibeli untuk digunakan untuk kegiatan operasi normal perusahaan[2] dan tidak dimaksudkan untuk dijual kembali. Contoh aset tetap antara lain adalah properti, bangunan, pabrik, alat-alat produksi, mesin, kendaraan bermotor, furnitur, perlengkapan kantor, komputer, dan lain-lain. Aset tetap biasanya memperoleh keringanan dalam perlakuan pajak. Kecuali tanah atau lahan, aset tetap merupakan subyek dari depresiasi atau penyusutan.

Klasifikasi

Aset tetap diklasifikasikan menjadi lima jenis:[2]

  1. Lahan
  2. Gedung
  3. Mesin
  4. Kendaraan
  5. Inventaris (perlengkapan yang melengkapi isi gedung, misalnya inventaris kantor, inventaris pabrik, inventaris lab, inventaris gudang)

Penyusutan nilai

Kecuali tanah, semua bentuk aset tetap dikenai penyusutan atau depresiasi. Artinya nilai aktiva tetap selain tanah, misalnya mobil, berkurang seiring dengan realisasi masa umur pemanfaatannya, sampai ketika masa guna itu habis, nilai aktiva mobil yang bersangkutan adalah nol. Ada beberapa metode penetapan nilai penyusutan, tetapi yang paling lazim digunakan adalah metode garis lurus (straight-line method). Beberapa pengelompokkan metode penyusutan antara lain:[2]

  1. Metode garis lurus (straight line method)
  2. Metode saldo menurun (diminishing balance method)
  3. Metode jumlah unit (sum of the unit method)

Beberapa usaha pertambangan di Indonesia berdasarkan peraturan kontrak karya diharuskan menerapkan metode yang lain.
