Andreas Cellarius (ca 1596[1]–1665[2]) adalah seorang kartografer dan kosmografer Belanda-Jerman yang terkenal karena Harmonia Macrocosmica tahun 1660, sebuah atlas bintang utama.

Biografi

Ia dilahirkan di Neuhausen, dan menempuh pendidikan di Heidelberg.[3] Cellarius yang Protestan mungkin telah meninggalkan Heidelberg pada awal Perang Tiga Puluh Tahun pada tahun 1618 atau pada tahun 1622, ketika kota itu jatuh ke tangan Katolik. Aktivitasnya saat ini tidak jelas, namun berdasarkan karya-karyanya selanjutnya, diduga ia menghabiskan waktu di Polandia di mana ia mungkin pernah bekerja sebagai insinyur militer. Pada tahun 1625, ia menikah dengan Catharina Eltemans di Amsterdam, di mana ia bekerja sebagai kepala sekolah di sebuah sekolah Latin.
