Iberis /aɪˈbɪərɪs/, [1] biasa disebut bunga andalusia atau candytuft, merupakan genus tumbuhan berbunga yang termasuk dalam famili Brassicaceae . Ini terdiri dari tanaman tahunan, tanaman keras yang selalu hijau, dan subsemak yang berasal dari Dunia Lama. [2]

Tumbuhan ini menyediakan makanan bagi sejumlah spesies serangga, di antaranya kupu-kupu Euchloe tagis yang langka adalah contoh paling mencolok karena bersifat monofag pada spesies dalam genus ini.[3] [4]

Pertahanan biokimia

Spesies dalam genus Iberis tidak hanya mengandung glukosinolat, yang merupakan ciri pertahanan kimiawi dari famili tumbuhan Brassicaceae, tetapi juga cucurbitacins, [5] yang lebih dikenal sebagai pertahanan kimiawi dalam famili tumbuhan Cucurbitaceae . Cucurbitacins dari Iberis amara mempunyai aktivitas antifeedant terhadap spesialis pemakan Brassicaceae Pieris rapae ( kupu-kupu kubis ).[6] Cucurbitacins dari Iberis umbellata adalah antagonis ecdysteroid, yang bekerja pada reseptor ecdysteroid serangga .[7]
