Alex Shnaider (lahir 3 Agustus 1968) adalah seorang pengusaha asal Ukraina. Beliau adalah pemilik Midland Group, sebuah perusahaan baja yang berbasis di Toronto, Kanada. Total penghasilan Shnaider ditaksir mencapai 3 miliar dollar AS pertahun. Ia merupakan teman baik dari Roman Abramovich.

Profil

Shnaider menamatkan pendidikan S1-nya di Lyon McKenzie College. Sementara pendidikan S2 dan S3-nya ia tamatkan di Toronto York University. Ia juga memilih untuk menetap di Kanada ketimbang di Rusia.

Midland Group ia dirikan pada tahun 1994 setelah melihat potensi bisnis yang besar dari negara-negara eks-Uni Soviet yang kini dikenal dengan nama CIS. Kantor pertamanya adalah di kota Kiev, Ukraina. Kemudian pada 1997 ia membuka cabang di Toronto, dan disusul dengan cabang di Moskow.

Pada tahun 2000 seiring dibukanya cabang Midland London, ia kemudian membeli sejumlah saham pabrik-pabrik baja di Ukraina. Kemudian ia juga membeli beberapa pabrik baja di Inggris, Turki, dan Serbia.

Pada 2002 ia mulai masuk ke Amerika Serikat dengan mendirikan Midland Shipping Group. Ia juga melebarkan sayap dengan berbisnis real estate di Toronto dan Moskow.

Pada 2003 ia terlibat projek privatisasi beberapa perusahaan pemerintah di Serbia dan Montenegro. Investasinya meliputi pertanian, real estate, transportasi, dan bola lampu. Selain itu ia juga mulai membangun rel kereta api untuk dipakai di Rusia.

Pada 2004 ia bekerja sama dengan divisi transportasi Polandia. Selain itu ia juga membeli beberapa perusahaan peleburan baja mentah di Ukraina dan Rusia.

Midland F1

Awal 2004 ia mengumumkan akan turun di ajang F1 dengan membuat tim baru bernama Midland F1. Namun di penghujung 2004 akhirnya ia memutuskan untuk turun di F1 dengan membeli tim Jordan GP. Dan akan mengubah namanya menjadi Midland F1 pada musim 2006

Pada 2006 tim Midland gagal meraih satu poin pun, dan di GP Italia ia kemudian memutuskan untuk menjual timnya kepada Michiel Mol dari Spyker.

Sepak Bola

Pertengahan 2007 Shnaider membeli mayoritas saham di klub Maccabi Tel Aviv. Dan berencana membangun tim tersebut supaya menjadi klub kuat di Israel dan juga di Eropa.
