Ajoy Chakrabarty

Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty (bahasa Bengali: অজয় চক্রবর্তী; kelahiran 1952) adalah seorang vokalis klasik Hindustani India.[1] Ia berasal dari gharana Patiala.[2]

Kehidupan awal

Chakrabarty lahir di Kolkata, Bengal dari Ajit Chakraborty dalam sebuah keluarga Brahmin Hindu. Mereka berpindah ke India dari tanah air mereka, Bangladesh pada saat partisi dan membesarkan dua putranya di Shyamnagar. Adiknya, Acharya Sanjay Chakrabarty adalah seorang komposer dan vokalis kelas dunia. http://www.acharyasanjay.com/.

Kehidupan pribadi

Chakrabarty menikah dengan Chandana Chakraborty. Putri mereka, Kaushiki Chakraborty adalah seorang vokalis musik klasik Hindustani terkenal. Putra mereka, Ananjan Chakraborty adalah seorang teknisi suara dan produser/sutradara.
