Agnes dan Berthold IV

Agnes dari Rochlitz (wafat tahun 1195) berasal dari keluarga Wangsa Wettin dan putri Dedi V, Pangeran Wettin dan istrinya, Matilda dari Heinsburg. Ia juga dikenal sebagai Agnes dari Wettin.[1]

Agnes menikah dengan Berthold IV, Adipati Merania. Dari pernikahan ini Agnes mendapatkan gelar Adipati Wanita Merania dan Comtesse Andechs.

Pada tahun 1186, suami Agnes menemani Henry VI, Kaisar Romawi Suci, ke Kerajaan Sisilia. Pada tahun 1189, ia memimpin divisi ketiga pasukan kerajaan dan pembawa panji Perang Salib Ketiga.

Agnes memiliki 8 orang anak. Di antaramereka, tiga ratu:

Seorang putri tak bernama menikah ke dalam keluarga Serbia, Wangsa Nemanjic.

Putrinya, Agnes diragukan istri ketiga Philip II dari Prancis. Putri lainnya, Gertrude menjadi Ratu Hungaria, melalui pernikahannya dengan Andrew II dari Hungaria, tetapi ia tewas terbunuh karena ia memberikan wilayah Hungarianya pada kerabatnya. Putri sulung Agnes, Hedwig menjadi Ratu Polandia dan akhirnya dikanonisasikan pada tahun 1267.

Agnes adalah keturunan Agnes dari Jerman dan Frederick I, Adipati Swabia, melalui putri mereka, Bertha dari Swabia. Agnes dari Jerman adalah putri Henry IV, Kaisar Romawi Suci dan istri pertamanya, Bertha dari Savoia. Orangtua Henry adalah Henry III, Kaisar Romawi Suci dan Agnes dari Poitou.

Agnes dari Poitou adalah putri William V, Adipati Aquitania dan istri ketiganya Agnes dari Burgundia.[2]
