Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir (bahasa Arab: عادل بن أحمد الجبير; kelahiran 1 Februari 1962) adalah seorang diplomat yang menjadi Menteri Luar Negeri Arab Saudi sejak 29 April 2015 sampai dengan 27 Desember 2018.[1] Ia merupakan orang kedua yang tidak berasal dari Wangsa Saud setelah Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Suwaiyel yang menjadi yang pertama.[2] Ia sebelumnya menjabat sebagai Duta Besar Saudi untuk Amerika Serikat dari 2007 sampai 2015,[3] dan ia juga menjadi penasehat kebijakan luar negeri Raja Abdullah.

Kehidupan awal

Al-Jubeir lahir di Al Majma'ah (Provinsi Riyadh), Arab Saudi. Ia masuk sekolah di Arab Saudi, Jerman, Yaman, Lebanon dan AS. Ia meraih gelar B.A. summa cum laude dalam bidang ilmu politik dan ekonomi dari University of North Texas pada 1982, dan gelar M.A. dalam bidang hubungan internasional dari Georgetown University pada 1984.[4] Pada 2006, ia meraih gelar Dokterandes Kehormatan dalam bidang Sastra Kemanusiaan dari University of North Texas.

Kehidupan pribadi

Adel Al-Jubeir menikah[5] dengan Farah Al-Fayez, dan merupakan ayah tiri dari dua anaknya dari suaminya sebelumnya.[6] Ia juga memiliki dua putra miliknya sendiri dari istrinya.
