Abenomics

Abenomics (lakuran dari kata Abe dan economics) mengacu pada kebijakan ekonomi yang diajukan Shinzō Abe saat menjabat sebagai Perdana Menteri Jepang periode kedua sejak 2012 hingga 2020. Neologisme ini pernah muncul dalam bentuk politis serupa seperti Clintonomics (sesuai Presiden Amerika Serikat Bill Clinton) dan Rogernomics (sesuai Menteri Keuangan Selandia Baru Roger Douglas). Abe ingin mengekspansi ekonomi Jepang yang masih terhambat akibat resesi ekonomi global dengan melaksanakan beberapa rencana seperti quantitative easing yang agresif dari Bank of Japan, penambahan anggaran infrastruktur publik, dan devaluasi mata uang yen.

Kebijakan-kebijakan tersebut bisa disamakan dengan rencana pemerintahan lain di seluruh dunia untuk mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi. Teori perubahan ekonomi permintaan Keynes kabarnya menjadi salah satu inspirasi Abenomics. Hasilnya, nilai yen terhadap dolar Amerika Serikat lebih rendah 25% pada kuartal kedua 2013 jika dibandingkan dengan kuartal yang sama tahun 2012, diikuti kebijakan moneter yang sangat longgar.^[1] Selain itu, tingkat pengangguran di Jepang turun dari 4,0% pada kuartal akhir 2012 menjadi 3,7% pada kuartal pertama 2013.^[2]
