A Flower Bookmark (Hangul: 꽃갈피; RR: Kkotgalpi) adalah album mini daur ulang pertama oleh penyanyi, penulis lagu dan aktris Korea Selatan, IU. Album ini juga merupakan album mini bahasa Korea keenamnya. Album mini ini dirilis pada 16 Mei 2014, saat ulang tahun IU, oleh LOEN Tree dibawah naungan LOEN Entertainment. Tidak seperti karya sebelumnya, A Flower Bookmark menampilkan versi daur ulang dari lagu nostalgia K-pop yang dipopulerkan dari tahun 1980-an sampai 1990-an.[1]

Album mini ini menerima kesuksesan secara komersial dan kritis. Album ini melahirkan dua singel populer; singel utama "My Old Story" dan "The Meaning of You". "My Old Story" memuncak di Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100,[2][A] sementara "The Meaning of You" menduduki peringkat teratas di Gallup Korea "Song of the Year" pada tahun 2014.[3][B] Secara khusus, "The Meaning of You" telah terjual lebih dari dua juta kopi digital sejak perilisan, bahkan melebihi penjualan singel utama album ini. IU memperoleh sebuah MelOn Music Award for Artist of the Year, dan sebuah nominasi untuk Album of the Year dengan album mini ini.[4][5]

Majalah Billboard menempatkan album ini pada peringkat ketiga dalam daftar "Best K-Pop Albums of 2014" mereka.[6]

Sebuah LP edisi terbatas, menampilkan sebuah lagu tambahan "Eoheoya Dunggidunggi", tersedia untuk dijual.[7] Per Desember 2024, album ini telah terjual lebih dari 50,000 kopi fisik dan lima juta singel digital di Korea Selatan (lihat Grafik).

Latar belakang dan perilisan

A Flower Bookmark terdiri dari versi daur ulang dari lagu nostalgia K-pop yang dipopulerkan dari tahun 1980-an sampai 1990-an, termasuk "My Old Story" (Jo Deok-bae, 1985), "Flower" (Kim Kwang-seok, 1991), "Pierrot Smiles at Us" (Kim Wan-sun, 1990), "When Love Passes By" (Lee Moon-se, 1987), "The Meaning of You" (Sanulrim, 1984), "Dreams in Summer Night" (Kim Hyun-sik, 1988), dan "Boom Ladi Dadi" (Clon, 1996).[8]

Pada 15 Mei, sebuah teaser video untuk A Flower Bookmark diunggah di saluran YouTube resmi LOEN Entertainment.[9] Teaser tersebut menampilkan Kim Wan-sun, penyanyi asli dari "Pierrot Smiles at Us" (Hangul: 삐에로는 우릴 보고 웃지; RR: Ppieroneun Uril Bogo Utji).[10] Video musik resmi untuk singel utama "My Old Story" (Hangul: 나의 옛날 이야기; RR: Naui Yetnal Iyagi), menampilkan aktor Choi Woo-shik, dirilis melalui YouTube pada hari yang sama.[11]

Album ini kemudian dirilis keesokan harinya. Setelah perilisan album, "My Old Story" mencapai status all-kill yang sempurna[12]

Kinerja komersial

Per Oktober 2015, album ini telah terjual sebanyak 53,900 kopi di Korea Selatan[C] dan 900 di Jepang.[14]
