ATP sitrat sintase

ATP sitrat sintase (juga dikenal sebagai ATP sitrat liase (ACLY)) adalah suatu enzim yang memiliki peran penting dalam sintesis asam lemak pada hewan.[1] Dengan mengubah sitrat menjadi asetil-KoA, enzim ini mengaitkan metabolisme karbohidrat yang menghasilkan sitrat sebagai zat intermediat dengan pembentukan asam lemak yang menggunakan asetil-KoA sebagai substrat.[2] Pada tumbuhan, ATP sitrat liase menghasilkan prekursor asetil-KoA, sitosolik yang digunakan dalam pembentukan ribuan metabolit khusus, termasuk malam, sterol dan poliketida.[3]
