AKS-74 ("S" – Skladnoy (bahasa Rusia); bahasa Indonesia: Lipat) adalah varian AK-74 dengan popor lipat samping berbahan metal dengan bentuk "U" dan tidak dilengkapi dengan bantalan (pad) pada ujung popornya. Popor lipat jenis baru ini dibuat dari lembaran metal yang dicetak dan lebih unggul jika dibandingkan dengan popor AKMS yang menggunakan basis popor pistol mitraliur (sub machinegun) MP40.
