Drs. H. Abdul Waris Husain (10 Juni 1944 – 26 Juli 2018) adalah Wali Kota Samarinda keenam yang menjabat selama dua periode, yakni antara tahun 1985-1990 dan 1990-1995. Pada masa kepemimpinannya, Samarinda meraih Aga Khan Award atas prestasi membangun pusat perdagangan rakyat Citra Niaga. Ia juga pernah menjabat sebagai anggota DPRD Provinsi Kalimantan Timur periode 2009-2014 dari Partai Patriot.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]

Waris Husain meninggal dunia pada 26 Juli 2018 pukul 23.30 waktu setempat di RSUD Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Samarinda pada usia 74 tahun.[12] Almarhum dikebumikan pada keesokan harinya di Taman Makam Pahlawan Kesuma Bangsa Samarinda.[13]
