2 Tawarikh 8 (atau II Tawarikh 8, disingkat 2Taw 8) adalah bagian dari Kitab 2 Tawarikh dalam Alkitab Ibrani dan Perjanjian Lama di Alkitab Kristen. Dalam Alkitab Ibrani termasuk dalam bagian Ketuvim (כְּתוּבִים, "tulisan").[1][2]

  • Kisah yang dicatat di pasal ini menurut catatan sejarah terjadi sekitar tahun 950 SM, yaitu tahun ke-11 pemerintahan raja Salomo di di Kerajaan Israel.

Ayat 11

Dan Salomo memindahkan anak Firaun dari kota Daud ke rumah yang didirikannya baginya, karena katanya: "Tidak boleh seorang isteriku tinggal dalam istana Daud, raja Israel, karena tempat-tempat yang telah dimasuki tabut TUHAN adalah kudus."[3]

Pernikahan Salomo dengan putri Firaun bertentangan dengan hukum Allah (lihat Ulangan 17:17; Keluaran 34:16). Sekalipun Salomo dengan setia membangun Bait Suci dan menaati banyak perintah Allah, pernikahan ini menunjukkan bahwa dia tidak menyerahkan setiap aspek hidupnya kepada pimpinan Allah. Kegagalan untuk melawan godaannya yang terbesar akhirnya mengakibatkan kehancurannya; dengan demikian ia membiarkan suatu bidang vital dalam hidupnya terbuka kepada Iblis (lihat 1 Raja–raja 4:29–34; 1 Raja–raja 11:1). Iblis hanya memerlukan satu bagian dalam kehidupan seorang percaya yang tidak diserahkan atau tidak dibereskan untuk memperoleh tempat berpijak dan menuntunnya menjauh dari Allah.[4]
